Upcoming Changes to Parking Meters: Share Your Feedback

Central Eastside Industrial Council and Portland Bureau of Transportation are partnering to enhance efficiency and reduce operational costs in the district.

Revenue from parking meters is essential for funding district services, but maintaining physical parking meters is costly. To address this, we’re streamlining operations by reducing the number of parking meter machines. All affected parking spaces will remain pay-to-park, with payments still accessible via nearby meters or the Parking Kitty app. To assist with the transition, updated signage and large sidewalk stickers will direct users to the nearest meter or provide information about app usage.

You can view the locations where these meter removals are taking place on this interactive map: Meter Removal Map A legend in the upper left corner of the map offers additional details.

The removal process is underway and is anticipated to be completed by the end of December. We value your feedback on the sticker signage.

 Specifically, we’d like to know:

  • Are the stickers easy to locate?

  • Do the stickers clearly communicate the direction of the closest parking meter?

Please share your thoughts by emailing Lesslie Lopez, Transportation Demand Management & Programs Manager at Lesslie@ceic.cc.

Your input helps us ensure this transition works smoothly for everyone.
