Coffee Break Series: City Councilor Tiffany Koyama Lane
Join us for our Coffee Break Series on Tuesday, April 21 from 9–11 am at Jupiter Hotel with City Councilor Tiffany Koyama Lane for a conversation with Central Eastside member businesses.
Tiffany Koyama Lane is one of the three councilors representing District 3 (inner Southeast Portland, reaching north to Sandy Blvd. and east to I-205) on the Portland City Council. She brings her lived experiences and values as a mother, a teacher, and fourth-generation Japanese American, into office with her.
Koyama Lane will share updates from City Hall, followed by an open town hall-style Q&A and discussion. This is a chance to engage directly with your City Councilor, ask questions that matter to your business, and help ensure the Central Eastside’s voice stays front and center in city decisions.

This Earth Day we're taking to the streets of the Central Eastside with SOLVE. Come be part of the action!
Volunteer as an individual or round up your colleagues and come as a team. The more hands, the bigger the impact. Act fast, this is one of our most popular cleanup events of the year and we only have 100 spots available.

What to Know Before You Go:
All cleanup supplies provided.
Closed-toed shoes and weather-appropriate clothing required. A backpack and reusable water bottle are highly recommended.
Parking nearby includes off-street 2-hour, Zone N and G street parking, and paid lots. TriMet and Streetcar routes serve the area.
Restrooms available inside Stumptown through their front kiosk.
Spanish language support will be available.

Join us on October 21 as we welcome Metro Councilors Duncan Hwang and Ashton Simpson to the Central Eastside. While Councilor Hwang represents the Central Eastside, Councilor Simpson oversees neighboring East Portland—both play key roles in shaping our region’s future.
Metro’s decisions directly impact the Central Eastside—from land use and regional planning to the Supportive Housing Measure, which funds much of Multnomah County’s houselessness response. This is a valuable opportunity to share our district’s perspective and build relationships with the Metro regional government.
Councilor Hwang’s priorities include: Supportive Housing for Homelessness, the 2024 Growth Management Decision, and the future of the Expo Center.
Councilor Simpson’s priorities include: the Affordable Housing Bond, Supportive Housing for Homelessness, the Urban Growth Boundary, and the Climate Smart Strategy.

Portland Bread Fest
Mark your calendars — BREAD FEST is rising again on Sunday, September 28th from 10 am – 2 pm at the Melody Event Center (615 SE Alder St. Portland, OR 07214).

El Centro Milagro: Worry Dolls
The world premiere play "Worry Dolls", running September 4–21, follows two best friends, Luz and Sonia, navigating middle school together. These girls tell each other everything - but everyone has secrets and worries. Both girls are bombarded by the anxiety of growing up, not to mention the trauma and grief they are still processing from the COVID-19 pandemic. While Sonia struggles with the grief of her mother’s passing, Luz’s world opens up when a set of gifted Guatemalan worry dolls come to life and battle her Worry Monster.
