Where to Watch the World Cup
The biggest tournament in the world is well under way, and the Central Eastside has plenty of places to catch the action. Here are a few spots to get you started, with more popping up all tournament long. Pull up a seat at Baerlic Brewing, Birdie Time, La Factoria, OMSI, or Pan Y Pueblo.
Portland Mercury's Summer of Slushies
Beat the heat the tastiest way possible. More than 25 watering holes, restaurants, and cafes across the city are serving up their take on piñas, daiquiris, frozen negronis, and other boozy, fruity slushie creations for just $10 each. Sign up for the Summer of Slushies Pass for a chance to win Mercury swag along the way. Several district spots are participating, including Bunk Bar, Clarklewis, and Pacific Standard.
Portland Night Market
Wander through more than 175 of Portland's best vendors celebrating local food, culture, music, drinks, and retail. An iconic Central Eastside staple, the market brings the district to life with unique finds, featuring some of the city's best makers and creators all under one roof. Free and open to all ages.
Wonderlove 2 Year Anniversary Celebration
Raise a glass to two years of community, creativity, food, music, and connection. The celebration features a social hour, welcome remarks, live vocals by Jenna Denton, and a 21 and over after party. Expect fun giveaways, exclusive anniversary merchandise, and special surprises. RSVP and check in at the booth for an exclusive prize.
24th Annual Bastille Day Festival & French Market
Celebrate the largest French cultural event in Oregon at this free, all ages festival. Spend the afternoon soaking up live music, dance, French food and drinks, and a lively market atmosphere. A joyful gathering for francophones, francophiles, and anyone who loves French culture.
Summer Pop-up Series: Malpractice and Friends
Over the next 12 weeks, Malpractice & Friends brings together chefs, bakers, makers, and creatives we admire for a series of Sunday pop-ups. Some are longtime friends, some are new faces, but all of them are doing exciting things in Portland.
Join us every Sunday from 4–8 PM for rotating special foods, drinks and to support local businesses and talented people in our community.
The full lineup is still coming together, and we’ll be announcing additional guests throughout the summer.

Bike to Swim at Audrey McCall Beach
Roll out for a casual three mile ride to Audrey McCall Beach, one of Portland's newest riverside gems along the Eastbank Esplanade. Arrive early for Tapas Tuesday before the group heads out, then cool off with a swim, take in the sunset, and bring your floaties for Human Access Project's Tuesday Splashdown.
CEIC x SOLVE x HappyLucky Pride Clean-up
We're taking to the streets of the Central Eastside with SOLVE, teaming up with HappyLucky to spruce up their block ahead of Certified Freak, their Pride block party happening July 18. Come be part of the action! Volunteer as an individual or round up your colleagues and come as a team. The more hands, the bigger the impact.
(Find us outside Now Serving at 330 SE 6th Ave, right around the corner from HappyLucky. Look for our signs at check-in.)
As a thank you for volunteering, we'll have water and snacks available. Registration is required, so lock in your spot below. If you're bringing coworkers, create a team registration first and use our Teams Guide to get everyone signed up together.

Closed-toed shoes and weather-appropriate clothing required. A backpack and reusable water bottle are highly recommended.
Parking nearby includes off-street 2-hour, Zone N and G street parking, and paid lots. TriMet and Streetcar routes serve the area.
Restrooms available inside HappyLucky.
Spanish language support will be available.

Slamlandia
Slamlandia is a poetry open mic and slam that meets every month, on the third Thursday (although this month is an exception, meeting on the fourth Thursday!). This mic provides a creative, fun, and welcoming space for all literary communities in Portland. We encourage poets new and old to come share their work. We strive towards a safe space for poets to read their own poetry, witness others, and participate in community.
Slamlandia is hosted by Julia Gaskill. For the month of June, Camille McDaniel will be guest hosting.
The featured poet for June is Joshua Merritt.

Portland Festival of Cinema, Animation & Technology
PFCAT brings together filmmakers from around the globe and cinema lovers for a dynamic celebration of storytelling and creativity. Held at OMSI in the Empirical Theater, Theory, Kendall Planetarium, and auditorium, the festival features screenings for all ages, educational talks about animation, and engaging discussions to inspire and inform.

Exactly 30 years ago the townspeople of Blaine came together to celebrate their special small town in the Christopher Guest cult classic, Waiting For Guffman. Under the meticulous direction of off-off-off broadway legend, Corky St. Clair, they told the history of Blaine using the very best (local) talent.
Now, for ONE NIGHT ONLY, we bring Red, White, and Blaine to Portland. Be a Blaine-ite for the night as we put on a full recreation of the play -- with hits such as "Stools" and "Nothing Ever Happens on Mars" plus special never-been-seen-before scenes & surprises. We'll have an exorbitant amount of costumes, sets, balloons, and of course a seat reserved for Mort Guffman (fingers crossed he shows!)
