This award recognizes those who embody the resilience and forward-thinking spirit of the Central Eastside, fostering a deep sense of belonging and unity throughout the District

Día de Los Muertos Bike Ride Altar Tour

Join Milagro, a Better Together Grant recipient, as part of their 29th Día de Muertos' Observance for a guided bike tour of altars displayed at local businesses in the Central Eastside. This fun, community-focused ride will take you through beautiful altar displays, rain or shine, with a shorter route available if the weather doesn't cooperate. The event is free, but don’t forget to RSVP!

Event Details:

Meet at Milagro's Zócalo (537 SE Stark St.) between 12 - 1 pm to decorate your bike. The guided ride will begin at 1 pm and cover a three-mile route, with altars at the following locations. Take in the beautiful displays and while you're there, explore the local shops—grab a coffee, check out bike gear, or find something new along the way!

Embrace the Halloween spirit while making a positive impact in your community! This family-friendly event is a great way to connect, share responsibility, and support environmental awareness. Depave’s Big Break Block Party

Celebrate community-driven multimedia art, music, food, local crafts, skating, and more at the Big Break Block Party, proudly sponsored by CEIC alongside other partners.

This event activates the streets and demonstrates the future commons space envisioned at SE 7th and SE Sandy. Enjoy the festivities while supporting non-motorized transportation, depaving, and regreening the city to increase access to greenspaces, manage stormwater, and reduce urban heat.
