Preparing your business for Election Season

The CEIC and CET have been working closely with the City of Portland and local officials to stay informed about preparations for the upcoming election period. At this time, there are no indications of large protests or events related to the election. However, circumstances can change quickly. We recommend that you review and update your business emergency response plan. Here are some proactive steps to consider:

Prepare Your Business

  1. Arrange for garbage pick-up (if possible) and secure dumpsters.

  2. Bring in A-board signs from the street.

  3. Remove or secure patio seating, tables, potted plants, and large furniture.

  4. Check that your external video cameras are operational and recording properly, in case footage is needed by law enforcement.

  5. Communicate with your staff, make a plan, and establish clear roles and contact points.

  6. Share this preparedness information with your neighbors.
