Proposed Upcoming Changes to Street Parking in the Central Eastside

The Portland Bureau of Transportation (PBOT) is planning updates to public parking rates and parking rules across the city, including in the Central Eastside. These updates were approved as part of the City’s 2025–2026 budget and affect all five parking districts: Downtown, Northwest, Lloyd, Marquam Hill, and the Central Eastside.

What could this mean for you?

PBOT is considering changing how certain parking spots (called “blockfaces”) are used in Zone N. These changes may include:

  • Switching employee permit parking spots to metered parking

  • Switching free or time-limited spots to metered parking

  • Converting free or time-limited spots to employee permit parking

You can view a map of the proposed changes here.

Why are we reaching out?

As your business district association, the Central Eastside Industrial Council (CEIC) is committed to keeping you informed and advocating for your interests. PBOT has asked for our feedback on these changes, and we want to make sure your voice is heard.

How you can help:

We need to know how these changes might affect your employees, customers, or operations. Please take a few minutes to share your feedback by August 15.

Want to get more involved?
