Update to the Land Use & Urban Development Committee Structure

As part of our continued effort to align resources with strategic priorities, this committee will transition from a standing monthly public meeting to an internal working group of the CEIC Board. Going forward, the committee will convene with the public as needed—when significant topics arise or during formal public comment periods related to CEIC recommendations and initiatives.

The Land Use & Urban Development Committee plays a critical role in reviewing land use issues in the Central Eastside Industrial District and Industrial Sanctuary. The committee advises on multi-use commercial areas, reviews development proposals and applications, and evaluates factors impacting existing and future land uses. It remains actively engaged in drafting recommendation letters to the City of Portland and relevant bureau partners and continues to facilitate opportunities for public input to ensure thoughtful, equitable development in the district.
